Battery China learned that recently, the international standard proposal "application guide, test items and conditions of secondary lithium ion batteries for electric vehicle driving" put forward by China, in the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) the project was successfully approved. This standard will be the world's first international standard in the field of solid-state batteries, led by China and developed by experts from France, South Korea, Japan and other countries.
Relying on the research and development accumulation of solid-state batteries in China, this standard will clearly define the test specifications of solid-state batteries, which will enable global car companies to have a unified "scale" when developing and producing solid-state batteries in the future ", it is helpful to accelerate safer and longer-lasting electric vehicles into thousands of households and promote the rapid development of the new energy industry.
Industry analysis believes that the formulation of this standard will be conducive to sharing China's advanced battery technology concept to the world and enhancing China's voice in the international standard in the field of next generation power batteries, contribute more Chinese power to the technological upgrading and energy transformation of the global battery industry.
It is worth noting that before that, China GB/T 43568-2026, the world's first national standard for solid-state batteries for vehicles, was officially implemented on July 1, and all solid-state batteries were defined by quantitative indicators for the first time, technical boundary of mixed solid-liquid and liquid batteries. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology then launched 10 Draft of solid-state battery industry standards, ending the marketing chaos of "semi-solid" and "quasi-solid" used in the past.
According to the forecast of Huayuan Securities, the global shipments of solid-state batteries will reach 607.2GWh by 2030, of which the proportion of all-solid-state batteries will be close to 20%. At present, the industry has entered the key storage period on the eve of mass production. The implementation of the national standard GB/T 43568 and the promotion of 10 industry standards of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology have formed a double-layer constraint system between the national standard and the industry standard, accelerate the standardized development of industrialization.
According to incomplete statistics in the industry, there were more than 40 domestic solid-state battery-related investment projects in the first half of 2026. The Guangzhou Automobile all-solid-state battery mid-Test line has been put into operation and started small batch loading verification, geely plans to deploy solid-state batteries in its multi-brand pilot in 2027.
